*To ensure placement of the workers in an occupational environment adapted to their physiological & psychological capabilities

BIOLOGICAL
-bacteria,viruses,insects,plant,animals,humans
CHEMICAL
-solid(i.e.dust),liquid(i.e.solvents)&gas(i.e.CO2)
ERGONOMIC
-repetitive motions,improper design of workstation,etc
PSYCHOSOCIAL
-stress,violence,etc

>an employee not need be subjected to risk in injury at work nor others associated with the work environment
B.Economic

#costs to employer in the event if incident of work(i.e.legal fees,fines,etc)
C.Legal
>without extra encouragement of potential action or litigation,many organizations would no act upon their implied moral obligations
